Resolume stops loading decks

Post by meek »

Hi,

I keep on having the same problem at gigs with Resolume, with the resolume 2.4 (also happened on previous versions) and on different computer systems.
I did a gig on saturday and it kept on happening again, so I thought its about time I posted it.

This is what happens:

Resolume starts fine, runs ok.
I load various decks up, then at some point (Ive yet to see a pattern that triggers this) I go to load another deck and after double clicking the deck name, it looks as if it is loading the deck as normal and puts the deck name in resolume, but the decks its loaded is empty with a gid of empty clips.
I can no longer load a deck into Resolume until I restart the program.
The same thing occurs on any other deck i try to load from this point onwards.
I have to use the file browser to find footage (major pain in the arse)

Any thoughts on this ??

Like I say i cant see a pattern that is triggering this problem, it just happens all the time and messes my sets up !!!

:mad:

Any advice much appreciated !!

Spec:
Operating System: Windows Xp Media Center 2005
Processor:Intel 1.83ghz dual core T5600
Videocard: Nvidea GForce Go 7600
File type: various (swf, avi, mpeg)
Codec: various (swf, avi, mpeg)

(but like i say this occured on my old set up with a differnt spec,
but using the same Resolume .dck Files)

Thanks,

hi Meek,
Hmmm....so loading of deck's stops but you are still able to load files.
Thanx for the more detailed explanation. That helps spotting the bug more easily.
Do you know wether you were loading specific freeframe plugins that maybe caused this or maybe files that don't exist anymore?

When you find out more let us know.

Cheers
Edwin

I've had the same problem,even if I didn't use any plugins on my decks...after rebooting resolume (2.2) the problem was gone,but it returned later.Sometimes it happens,sometimes it doesn't...strange...

Yep, I saw the same behavior with 2.3 and 2.4. Last time it happened at a particularly bad time.

I've also had this happen, after only about half and hour too, but only once or twice so far!

I had the same problem. But after a complete reinstall of my system the bug is gone. I think the first time it came up, was after a quicktime update.

Hi again,

After more research into this bug Ive ruled out plugins or effects being a problem. I reinstalled Resolume and made a new deck with no effects and just swf files in it (so no codec issues either) and it still happens.
It seems like its a limit on how many decks Resolume can handle being open at once.
If I load each deck in turn from left to right, it fails loading a deck on the last two deck panels (7 and 8 from left).
If I never load a deck into these deck panels, it seems to work ok.
The order doesnt seem to be relevent either, just as long as I only have 5 decks loaded at once Im ok (so far)

any ideas ? seems a bit weird

thanks

I also had the same problem.
6 or 7 decks are loading, but the last stay blanks.
Deinstall/ reinstall resolume doesnt change the probleme, even with a cleaning of all the resolume entry i found in the registry (with jv16 registry cleaner). And with or without additional plugins.
I've had to install a 2nd XP on my laptop to make resolume work again.
The only strange thing i found is the way resolume wright the decks path in the resolume.ini.
Sometime with 2 "\\" at the end, sometime with with juste 1 "\"
Don't now if it can help u to find the bug...

exemple:

[startup]
firsttime=0
deck1=D:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Mes documents\Resolume 2.4\decks\\Africa.dck
deck2=D:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Mes documents\Resolume 2.4\decks\\Africa_2.dck
directory=f:\city _life\
deck6=D:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Mes documents\Resolume 2.4\decks\untitled-1.dck
deck8=D:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Mes documents\Resolume 2.4\decks\\Dj_names.dck
deck3=D:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Mes documents\Resolume 2.4\decks\\Spatial.dck
[files]

Also, sometime, before reinstalling a clean XP, resolume file browser didn't work at all, it was imposible to explore other disk than c:\

Operating System: XP pro sp2
Processor: Core duo T2300
Videocard: ATI X1600 / Omega drivers
File type: avi, QT, flash
Codec: indeo 5.2, animation JPEG

thanks
