Keybord Mapping

Post by VJzoo »

not sure if im just not seeing it but im trying to assign = and - to speed up and slow down globally if thats possible in R3, like r2 did.

also toggle direction of timeline instead of </> using one key.

I too would love a global setting for speed, but it looks like we can only currently set things that are visible controls. perhaps once the buglets are hammered out we can beg for that to be added 8-)

I am also missing the oppurtunity to set (and map) the speed of a whole layer. Would be great to be able to something like this in the layer properties. If you want to change the speed with a midi keyboard potentiometer I guess you would have to have a knob for every clip ... and I have only 16. ;-)

No this is indeed not yet possible, so far it is only possible to map items that are visible in the interface, we have to think of a way to map some clever invisible things like global speed and direction toggle. It's on our todo.

Hi all,

my first time on the forum, 1st id like to say well done with avenue! its simply awesome. rev1110 has some good improvements too!, but it still seems to be missing some key mapping ablities. such as forwards backwards key as vjzoo suggests (much missed)

could i suggest that there might be away to map multiple things to the same key? i.e. "\" mapped to both forwards and backwards so you can toggle between the two, likewise we could also map a play/pause key. as far as i could see this could be really useful, i would also map clip keys (1-0) so on first press it previewed the clip and on second press it triggered it as well as toggling through blending modes, decks, property panels etc...

I think this could be an option in the mapping interface, the selected key could show up with a number (this being the order of triggering). It would also as be useful to map more than one key to the same selection.

No workaround for this yet but it's on our todo, we wanted to get this done for 3.1 but Flash took longer than expected ;-(
