Resizing Clips

Post by vj louis »

Is it possible in Avenue to automatically resize clips to fit into the Output screen size? I can resize each clip individually but this would take some time to accomplish as not all my video is the same size output. In 2.3 video resizing was automatic can this be done in Avenue???

Otherwise congratulations Avenue is a great product!!

A way around would be to re-size a layer, so all clips in that layer will be resized. (layer properties) Or you can Resize the composition. (composition propierties)

cheers

having all your clips is and has always been the best approach anyway. basic vj housekeeping - same size and compression on all clips just makes things a little bit smoother.

Thanks guys, im sure resizing is the way to go (if I have enough time!) it was just a very good feature in R2 which meant different size clips could be mixed easily needless of resolution. Now each clip or layer has to be adjusted which is fiddly. As well as making up new decks now it looks like I have to resize them all too, I hope an auto resize feature is added at a later date. Avenue seems rocksteady tho!

I checked it, and you CAN change clips sizes, and Avenue will "remember" each size clip.

There are 4 threads about this and no response from B or E.
Please could you answer the question, is there any way to do this automatically or will you include it in the next update ?

do you mean to resize images / videos to fit the composition?

if so,its already been adressed, there is a resize button in the latest release.

Yes, I know there is a button, but that is not practical at all.
Why not like in R2?

its far better than before imo, sometimes you dont want images or clips to automaticly be resized. if its not practical for you as it is, assign a key in the contextual keyboard mapping to activate it, then press it when you load the clip or image.... simple

i know that it's better, but sometimes.
It would be great if you could turn this ''auto res.'' option on and off
