Auto triggering next clip/composition and cliplength

Post by ferenc »

I must have overlooked this, but I can't find out how to setup Resolume to let it automatically switch between compositions and clips. I have to VJ for more then 9 hours so I would really like to know how to get it on the auto pilot. :D

And what is the best way of cutting up found footage for Resolume. I'm used to cut it up in real small clips of around 10 to 30 seconds and put them each in a different slot. That was with Arkaos NuVJ. But what's the best way for Resolume, long or short clips?

Thanks in advance,
Ferenc

I generally use Sony Vegas for this, it can read most file formats reliably, and you can set the timeline & grid to beats (instead of h:m:s;f).

And while I'm at it, a plug for one more Max patch:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5825

I had thought of mostly using it to prepare comps, not use it live, but it turns out that messing with the playmode and syncmode of an entire comp all at once can make for some really interesting effects. For example, have all the clips to set to loop, and trigger (via Copilot or Sequencer) every 2 beats, with playmode as resume. Then during a breakdown, set all clips to play once, with playmode as retrigger, and firing on every beat.

I was testing the example you mentioned, but how do I set the playmode to retrigger? I have the sequencer and the multi editor enabled.

By the way, thanx for developing these essential tools for Resolume.
