Forward key.. Make it work on columns too

Post by gregsully »

I like using the forward key to trigger the next clip on a layer.. I wish I could also do this for whole columns as well.. This way I could trigger full sets of movements at once and run thru an entire show click by click.

When I VJ I free-form it.. but in my corporate work where everything is locked in place this column advance feature would be really nice as I 'go' on cues.

I never would have run a show like this with v3 so much.. but now with v4 and auto fades set up per layer.. the grid has become a usable timeline for me.. Thus the forward columns with a key would put it all together.

just a thought (maybe too complicated, but if the gui would be more customizeable it may makes more sense):

what about extra column properties and effects....
so that you can use a column like a layer...
also would make sense working with vms (just thinking about a setup we gonna have here).... so i can sync colums via dmx, and the colums are "mapped" with ir mapio....

sure now you can normally do a workaround with that...
but maybe the columns also want to have their own properties :p
otherwise it may be a little confusing having 4 than 3 possibilities to drop an effect on :p

^^Ya I don't want to get to complicated with this request.. Simple click forward to advance to the next column would be powerful.. Possibly get to it but hitting up key to get to the top (above the layers)

If it was also able to be done via autopilot that would be super helpful.
