Go! button for autopilot

Post by dachhu »

I think auto pilot is a great addition to Resolume, It's almost created a cue stack system, i.e. lighting consoles or Qlab. I say almost because it's missing the cue "Go" button. The arrow keys can move you around but can't find a way to map them.

With the recent update to apply transition fx along layers as well as behaviour of direction(Brilliant!), autopilot is so close to being a great tool for performing and live arts.

As a lighting technician in performance i rely on that one big button that guides me through a show knowing the next time i hit that button the effect i want is achieved(as long I've programmed it correctly).

So my request is a mappable cue "Go" button, and would greatly be complimented by a status window.

If i've got to press play on a cd, "Go' button on a lighting desk and change the video clip all at the same time, at the specific moment a dancer raises her eyebrows, I'm really looking for 1 button that triggers the next sequence of events.

I realise that the software is suppose to be a live performance visual instrument but i think these changes would really open up a market in to live performance venue use.

Great Software, I have Arena.

+1 This is a great idea.
We too are using it for live performance (dance & theatre) and this one would really be a handy feature.

Not sure how I would use autopilot without this sort of functionality.

Add me to the list cheer leading this idea. I work in performing arts as well.

I suggested adding the forward key to not only to trigger clips but columns for this reason.. (which i still want) but since autopilot can move across several columns, this simple Cue Feature (module) would be even more powerful to trigger either full columns or individual layers)

Any new features treating the grid as a timeline, either linear or non-linear will take this program next level.
