New notebook GPUs

Post by BPM »

hello,
All new performance notebooks now contain switchable GPUs
Nvidia with Optimus Technology & AMD/ATI with Enduro Technology.
I have heard about alot of fps issues (games) regarding those technologies
Does this affects resolume's performance?
And if so what can we do if we want to buy a new modern laptop?

There is an option to assign programs to gpu, so when starting resolume, you can automatically make the laptop switch to the nvidia card.

Not sure if this would solve all the issues, but when assigned that way, there should be no hassle from switching between onboard and addon gpu.

Edit: I seem to have fixed, my problem. My issue was I wasn't reading what graphics card Resolume was using in my log. Thanks

Hm, can´t compare that, did you try other/newer driver versions ? There is also nvidia help with a nice chat system, had to use them once for a totally different problem and they were very helpful.

Would also like to know if this is a bug or normal behaviour, since I´m gonna buy a laptop soon. Why would it work with other programs but not resolume ? Can you test if it works for ANY other application except resolume or just some of them ?
