RTMP Stream from Resolume?

Post by robksawyer »

Is it possible to create an RTMP stream from Resolume Arena 4? I'm thinking it might be interesting to pipe/connect to this via a Flash SWF file and then manipulate? Possible? Examples?

Or maybe using Syphon somehow to pipe a stream into Flash that can be manipulated?

There's the spout cam, you can plug the resolume comp to any app with webcam support.

You can develope your flash with that.
Or plug it to a service like CamStreamer to serve an rtmp server.
Even can use manycam to take that and streaming an rtmp.

Oh, sorry about the delay, I missed that you're on osx.
Enable Syphon! I think you can pick up that stream in any caster software.
I guess even Quartz have a manycam plugin for that.

Hi,
I tried it few days ago and it works perfectly with minimal latency (cca 150 ms). I used Wifi Webcam Forever sc-220 as a streamer and made a patch in TouchDesigner MovieStreamIn (with correct IP adress and stream name - in my case it was rtmp://192.168.0.1/MJPG) > SpoutOut...In resolume you just put a spout cam...It works nice, but TouchDesigner is little hardware demanding sw...since 2 months it is downloadable also for MacOS...just use SyphonOut insttead of SpoutOut node....enjoy.

But anyway it is a complicated way to do that...do you have any suggestions, how to do it easier? Thx. :D

Can't you set the Resolume output to Spout/Syphon and then just use OBS (Open Broadcast Studio) to send the RTSP stream? Am I misunderstanding the workflow?

You are talking about the oposite direction of streaming...The point was e.g. use of a wifi stream from a camera in a theatre and combine it with other footages in Resolume with an output to a projector.

But anyway the Open Broadcast Studio is really nice piece of a software...

Oh, well then you could just use Syphoner to import the video texture from the stream (or any app) into Resolume. There will be some lag, of course. If you have the actual RTSP URL, I would stream it in VLC for the least lag, and then use Syphoner to bring the VLC window into Resolume.
