360° video FFGL plugin for resolume?

someone thinks it's possible to have a ffgl plugin for resolume that transforms a 360° videoclip (equirectangular) like facebook and youtube does? you could have parmeters like: field of view, camera position, camera rotation, ... would be an effective but simple plugin for 360° content. ;)

Yes. This would be sweet to have! What kind of source would you have Markres (cameras, lenses, capture cards)? I have a similar idea for a projekt...

Tried "Polar Coordinates " plug in with a few of my spherical videos , some time ago in Vvvv. It needed better way of controlling, but as proof of concept it was kinda working.

working with vvvv and 360 video content is super easy! did that just load texture on a sphere and stream with spout to resolume. that was the reason i thought it is so easy to do that and pack it into a simple ffgl plugin. with a simple plugin you could have many 360 layers in resolume on top of each other.

if this has not been done yet, I am thinking of taking it up...

Any more info what you guys want... Can someone send me a clip for testing, also what markers and girds should it have?

I am presently building content for dome projection. I develop content within After Effects using Camsphere as demonstrated in this tutorial.

Dome content can also be tested using SATDomePort2.0 .

I need a little more info to get started on this.

The clips you be loading are equirectangular panorama video clips?
And you want a view placed on that so you can look at a section of that panorama.
Also the panorama will need to be mapped on a sphere.

View movement you want left, right, up, down, zoom in / out?

I hope i got that right, please let me know if something is not right.
Can you give me a demo clip for testing.

Controlling the view could be possibly like how GoPro VR (formerly KolorEyes) does it. https://vr.gopro.com
Of course you would want it with mappable controls, midi/Osc.

Krpano.com can produce Flash tours with your 360videos. You could then mod them to play in Resolume. Haven't tried it but it's worth a shot.


FYI:TouchDesigner uses a template and can do live VR. Via PtGui template.

sounds great! camera inside the sphere mapped equirectangular panorama video clips.
possible parameters:
-camera rotate x, y, z (look left-right, look up-down, roll angle)
-camera field of view (degree)
-camera or sphere move x, y, z
-sphere rotate x, y, z
-sphere size/radius
-sphere resolution/detail?

yes you look at a section. camera could also be on the outside of the sphere and look at it.
