Photo mosaic animation

Post by atomicphil »

Hey there,

Anyone know if its possible to load a large selection of photos (from a DropBox folder) into Resolume and make them move in 3D space (or just scale scale down so it looks like its moving in 3D space). A bit like you'd do with Trapcode in After Effects / or Photo Mosaic Animation.

Or any suggestions for different approaches?

Thanks!
P

I'd do this in Wire. Are you wanting to be able to drop more photos in the folder and expect them to work? that isn't possible, but you could replace images in the folder with the same name and that should update.

You can load a sequentially numbered set of images as image clip into Resolume. https://resolume.com/support/en/stills#image-sequences

I'd use this approach to convert the image sequence into a single DXV clip, you can set the frame rate then.
Then use transform or other effects to move it in the "3d space".

If you're thinking of doing an auto slideshow with new files added automatically, that can't be done in Resolume natively currently, but if you find a program which can do the slideshow, you can get it's texture into Resolume via NDI scan converter.
