newbie question about mapping

Post by damstraversaz »

Hi
first sorry for my poor english..
I'm first a musician , and using resolume with music for digital arts. I'm just begin to explore mapping (for some micro mapping tests), and as a non VJ or visual artiste ,I have a noob question about this :
On the post your mapping video topic , there is some amazing work with resolume. I'm not trying to do this of course, but really like the "running" lines or running videos, from left to right or up and down. Could you explain me how to realise this with resolume ? there is surely several ways for doing this.
thanks a lot for reading

Damien,

You are taking about two distinct things.
First you need the proper content; animated lines, for instance.
Then you need to map this animated clip into different surfaces to achieve the desired effect.
First things first: You are no visual artist, but you still have to find or buy some animated lines clips. Then, try some tutorials about mapping. Bring your questions, difficulties and then we will guide you through the available solutions. ok?

As for animated lines, there is a plugin for that right in Resolume which you can animate them in realtime. Should be under sources FFGL if I am correct.
