Using Video as Mask???

Post by digitalgigalow »

Hello. I have been playing around with resolute and want to broaden my setup. I was wondering how to use a black and white video as a mask.

Below is a link for the black and white video I want to use.

Thank you.

Put mask video in layer 2.
Put video to be masked in Layer 1.
Set layer 2 blend mode to multiply.

Thank you Sadler. I tried what you said, yet it did not work. I tried it the opposite way and it worked like a charm.

1 Solution was written above (i never tryd this one)

My Solution :

If its a Black / White Video you want to have as Mask then :

Mask Video in Layer 1 // Blend Mode 50 Mask // 100% Ocapasity
Content Video in Layer 2 /3 / 4

Tip! One quick way of mixing videos that gives a good result is to put a black and white clip in the top layer, and a colorful one below. Then set the blend mode of the top clip to '50 Mask'. The colorful clip will now only show in the white parts of the video on top, giving a new result with every clip you try it with.
