question about midi

Post by hive8 »

Had a question about midi and the APC 40. I would like to map the reset function onto a button, when i go with the mouse over a slider and right click on it, it resets to the default value, can this be done in midi on a APC40 and how?

You could use Bome's to change the midi note into a mouse right click, but how would it know which effect/parameter to reset?

I've seen some people do this by mapping the button to the slider you want to reset, and then setting both the min and max range values to the reset value.

Wouldn't that mean you need to map two midi buttons (one that controls and one that forces the reset value) for each parameter you want to be able to reset? Can you do that?

It can be done by mapping one control to the application midi map, and another to composition midi map,
only problem being that since there is no takeover mode available, your parameter will jump to the current position of the adjustment slider any time you touch it.
