downgrading to Resolume Arena 4

Post by eratatat »

Hi guys.
A simple question. Can I open Resolume Arena 5.0 files with Resolume Arena 4.0 on another computer?
When trying this, it gives me an XML parsing error.
Thanks

I don't think that's officially supported, however,
you can try to open a copy of your composition in a text editor, look for the major version in the second or third line, set it to 4, instead of 5.

Why would you want to do that? Is it because you own an older version of Arena 4?

Hi.
I have Arena 5 on one computer and cannot buy Arena 5 for my second, so thinking of going for Arena 4 (because of cost). However, I would like to be able to play the files I already have on one computer with my new one.
Thanks for the advice, I tried the file on trial mode, and it works.

Cheers!

I've done this in the past using the same method that Raven suggested. The vast majority of the composition will be compatible with R4. R4 runs way better than R5 on older hardware
