Perfectly agree with that.
Working with an musicians allows you far more concentration. It's simply more useful than just improvising everytime, having a completely "new" music set everytime.
Plus you don't have to stretch your material to 6 hours. You work more straight to a point.

With you on the musician thing.
I tour with a 12 piece band on the "world" music scene in the uk and so my role is very much one of complimenting the sound rather than creating it.
That's not to say I wouldn't welcome an AV aspect in resolume but the sound response element is much more important for me.
The band play 100% live with no MIDI.

So, in the future?

More intuitive software and dedicated controllers?
Pitch recognition?
Equal billing for VJs?
World peace?

Adult Video is huge here in Japan, and any tools that can make production faster and deeper, in realtime, would definitely be welcome.
