DMX performance

Post by 4omp »

Hi!
i'm intresting what resources (GPU/CPU) resolume use for dmx perfomance? Sometimes when working with dmx on my mbp 2015, my cpu goes to 100% load, then drop fps from 60 to 20 for a second and start working fine. It happenes with generative sources (lines) and prerendered sequences.

DMX output is not very heavy, if you play many layers to create the pixel data for it, that can be.

Is this a macbook with dedicated graphics?
Does mouse movement or scrolling in other apps like google chrome lag too?

Have you checked which app uses the 100% cpu in the Activity monitor?

it is kernel_task. i think that dmx sequences work with cpu perfomance (cause it work with tables) and thats why get overheat and kernel_task drop processes to cool down CPU.

And because macbooks are very poorly designed to handle thermal load ;)

Could you send us your composition and the advanced output preset you use?
Thanks!
