Akai APC40 MK2 Default Midi Map Question

Post by ParmPanesar »

I was just looking at the default Midi Map for the Akai APC40 Mk2.
It's very useful...
Is there any reason why the 8th bank of clips for Layers 1-3 haven't been assigned to the 8th banks on the controller?
Is there anything they are being saved for, that I will need them for later if I assign them myself?

It just seemed a bit random and I was wondering if I was missing something here...

Also, do you have any good mapping suggestions for assigning clips to the preview monitor only?
Something like a Shift Key + Clip could work I guess but I haven't looked into it much myself yet.

Thanks
Parm

I don't think they are saved for later features.
The layout is an example you can get ideas from to create your own personalized shortcut map that is suitable to your workflow.

Using button modifiers to get more possibilities from a single controller would be great indeed in the future.

With the Factory APC 40 preset, you could select a layer, move it's opacity to 0, and launch a clip in the layer.
This will give you a preview of the layer with the clip on it.
Would that work for you?
