What's a good simple way to cut an MP4 into a bunch of clips?

Post by gpvillamil »

Hi there, not strictly a Resolume question, but one that I'm sure many people here have addressed.

I'm looking for a way to take an MP4, slice it into clips, and then export each clip as a separate file. Ideally as a batch process.

What has worked so far (manually) is to load the MP4 into Final Cut Pro, slice it where I want, then select each section using the Range selection tool, and exporting it.

I can then use Alley to convert them all to DXV in one shot.

Is there a convenient way of automating the first part? ie a way to export each subclip on the timeline as a separate file?

If you'd cut the files in Resolume as multiple clips, you could batch render them to DXV. https://resolume.com/support/en/clip-renderer

Alley can also trim the files for you when converting.
