Test card & grid

I find myself alway generating test cards using other software instead of the Resolume one so I'd like to see a few new options in the future:
- Having the choice between the current test card and one that includes color and a grid.
- Having the ability to generate the same two test cards (B&W Grid & Color Pattern) in advanced output for each slice sized to the input selection in addition to the existing grid feature
- Having two [Test Card] options in FFGL Sources (B&W Grid & Color Pattern) that get sized to the render height and width of the clip

+1 on that, maybe a plugin will help, i will look into making a FFGL plugin for that, I have a barco image pro 3G here let me see what test cards that has, from what i see it is, grids, color bars, color field, grey scale gradient horizontal and vertical.

Thanks Hive8! The main thing would be to have adaptive test cards that size automatically to the size of the composition, slices or clips.

The adaptive is not a problem at all. Let me know what you would like to see in a test card. Anything with a grid or other info? I would like to do a design before i put it into code.

I also found this here to add on maybe

I am afraid i do not have access to slices in advanced output. So it will be a source effect you can use on a clip que, layer or composition.

The Image Pros additionally have an option to apply motion to test patterns. Diagonally scrolling color bars, for example, can be a huge aid when dealing with weird pixel maps.

My ideal test card would have a combination of a grid , colors, letters & numbers and shapes.

Grid: a line every 20, 40 or 50 pixel is great but it would be great to have the option to use the bottom right or the center as a start point. Also having the center of the grid (XY coordinates) with bolder lines when you use the center of the image as a reference point would be great.

Color: the eight color band inside the 20/40/50 grid in multiple location (depending on size) but one needs to be in the center of the image.

Letters & Numbers: Size of test pattern is a must and other letters numbers to be used to focus

Shapes: having at least one bold circle is important to get better geometry with extreme maps. The radius of the largest circle should be the smallest size of the test card rounded down to the 20/40/50 increment. Here is the formula I would use in excel to find the radius: =(ROUNDDOWN(MIN(Width:Height)/Grid_Size,0)*Grid_Size)/2

I'm sure there are other things but this is what I can think of now and hopefully it all makes sense!

Thanks for jumping on the band wagon :D

+2
This would be great, thanks for putting in the time and effort.

Test card should have things like gamma falloff, multiburst, color bars, grids, contrast ...
There's also different color corrections done for NTSC/PAL (slight difference)

It be nice if Eyesupply shared their handy little test card generator (it is in flash though)
Let's you choose number of screens, (LED) tiles per screen, creates a grid and makes screens different colors.

I use the Philip PM5544 HD pattern

Whats the link to the eyesupply test generator. I am putting together right now all the different forms of patterns and grids and so on to put them in a FFGL plugin

No link, just watched them map massive walls effortlessly with it. Makes it extremely easy to map to slices.

There some diagonal lines and circles I think you can turn on/off on theirs, and timecode too

I'll try seeing if someone wold be willing to share (not sure how often they check here)
