animated .gifs

Ok, I know they're old and there are better ways of getting moving images, but I'd love to be able to load animated gifs and play them like you can in AE.

what about changing them to swf's in AE?

I love the gif look, converting my collection in AE to swf files is fine as long as I keep the jpeg quality up.
I can work around this I guess, but after building up so many gifs and working with them in AE, to now add a new layer of converting and losing a bit of the look I was after is a shame.
Not the end of world though.
