Updating clip thumbnails to reflect trimmed clip start

Post by mandawah »

Hi,

it would be very nice if clip thumbnails were updated to reflect the starting point that is set using the in- point of timeline in "Clip Properties, Transport".

I sometimes use clips that are not very well trimmed (for instance I was lazy when creating it) such that the first few frames does not really reflect the real content. I thus use the trimmer to set a new starting point, but unfortunately since the thumbnails are not updated, I sometimes cannot figure out on which clip I have to click.

Are you Resolume developers considering this for a future update?

Yes, we're not exactly shure how and when but it's on our radar. We're still in doublt if it should be an automatic feature. Or if we should add for instance an "Update Thumbnail" item to the Clip menu so you can do it manually.

A way to update the preview images would definitely improve usability! Bart, Edwin, if you implement this, please also take effects applied to a clip into account. As well as the RGB switches ;)

A current-clip-output-snap-shot to thumb would be fine [with two options a) for just this single clip b)for the whole deck]

Looking forward to this improvement! :)

I think it being automated would be better than manul. Or have both functions?
