Piano style triggering with a ADSR envelope

Post by KarmaMedia »

I think that would be useful if we can trigger a video clip via midi something like the piano style,
but with a control of his behavior in relation to the transport of the clip.
Something like audio samplers and adsr envelopes.
For example we could insert cue points marking the length of the (A)ttack section,
the (D)ecay part, the Sustain and the Release.
Then the sustain part could be looped until the note off, activating the release section of clip.

Hey that's an great idea!

You could also have fade/mix/what ever parameter ADSR curves, this would be great if you wanted to play your clips like you'd play a sound on a keyboard. It would also be great because you could have very simple material at start, for example you could have just a still jpg and you could assing fade in and out curves/times and maybe some other like rotate.

I know this overlaps a lot with existing features and you can always re-record your clips etc.

Anyways just a thought, like making a clip into more like "patch" (in audio world sample vs. patch)

Could be a solution ....
Managing Resolume via Ableton Live,
it could use this plugin vsti, Leslie Sanford ADSR

http://www.lesliesanford.com/SanfordADSREnvelope.shtml

This lets you assign an ADSR Envelope for each Midi Note,
and generates MIDI Control Change messages with minimum and maximum values.
This could easily be assigned to any parameter, the timeline of animation parameters, or to control several parameters at once via Dashboard.
