blending mode: divide?

Post by sherwin00 »

Hi all,

I'm new to Resolume. I have something specific in mind (see attachment) and I need the 'Divide' mode as featured in After Effects and Photoshop. I'm hoping someone somewhere has made this patch!?

In the attached example, I used Divide to blend the geometry into the stars. The geometry interacts with the changing brightness values in the stars. If anyone knows how to replicate this in Resolume your help would be much appreciated!

Can you explain what divide does. Maybe post the two inputs and the output as well.
I don't have Adobe products installed, so I'm not familiar with this blend mode.

This blend mode simply divides pixel values of one layer with the other.

Well that doesn't sound that difficult ;-), i'll give it a shot.

Are you working with a Mac or PC, i have a fisrt version to test with. It seems that a Divide is a dodge with inverted top layer. So i made the plugin and it seems to work but i'm not sure though if it works as it should.
