New Gfx card(s)

Post by bildwerk »

And im not quite shure now, which gfx card i should get for some new systems.

Mainboard will be an Asus P8Z77 WS on all pcs.
I need the following:
M1: 3-5 Projectors, 1280x720 resolution each
M2: 2 Projectors, 1920x1080, HDSDI capture x2
M3: 7 Displays, 1920x1080 each. (Cabling via Displayport 1.2 Daisy Chain)

I thought of getting GTX 760 for M1 and M2, 770 for M3.

Your recommendations and experiences? :)

hi there ;)
i would suggest a GTX780 or Titan for the huge setup...
depending on how many layers/effects you use..
the gtx 770 is like the GTX680, which won't be faster in Resolume than a GTX580 i think (opengl/texture-pipelines speak for the 580). A GTX285 also does a good Job (for example i did a media-opera setup 6x720p with "full size" footage and blackmagic grabbers... 3-5 layers running fine)!

infact, i don't know how the kepler series is running compared to the fermi core on resolume... maybe the gtx680 is way faster than the gtx580... but my feeling says no ;)

maybe anyone else has some experience comparing fermi and kepler cards.
also a test with a borrowed card would be nice... contact me if you wanna benchmark around ;)

GTX 780 is the best bang for performance right now. Transitioning all our media servers to it over the coming months after know there aren't wacky driver issues.

That's the card I'm running in my servers, no issues that I can see and it's a great price compared to the Titan
