Hi guys, I'd like to create a 300m2 interactive floor in a museum. The room is 17x18x4m. My question is, how can I connect about 30 projectors (5x6) with edge blending? What would be a good solution? (I have one source)
DATATON WATCHOUT
It is not suitable for Resolume.
It is a stand alone solution system that will use several computers and projectors, with edge blending.
User interface is very friendly.
It is not cheap but it is a definite solution for this kind of application.
Sync multiple computers with SMPTE or split a midi trigger to multiple machines. You need about 6 computers each with 5 or 6 outputs. You can do it with resolume but hippo or watchout would be easier. You can't do this with one computer.

would be much less expensive and you should only need i think about 9 projectors
This means a projector which can create 6,5m x 5m from 4m distance. I haven't found such a projector. I found a lens (Panasonic compatible) which can create 6x4 from this distance. Can you send a link please?
sad that there isn't a wider angel panasonic lens.... but i think a new projector like the listed here should be also aware to do the job!
with a throw ratio of 0,5:1 you should get 8 meters wide projection with 1 beamer...
for example
nec m350xs
1024x768 lcd 3500 ansi
throw ratio 0,47:1
so you should get 8x6 meters with 4 meter distance...
okay they are lcd, maybe not the best quality...
BenQ MW860USTi
0,375:1
1280x800 dlp 3000 ansi
with this one you should be fine with 6 projectors.... if you're bored you can try to stack 12
BenQ MW820ST
0,49:1
1280x800 dlp 3000 ansi
Optoma W306ST DLP
0,52:1
1280x800 dlp 3500 ansi
there are also some Acer 3000 ansi xga,
besides, edge blending shouldn't be a problem... you can also try visution mapio plugin
