multi video capture / multi video output

Post by alexipapa »

hi
i am working with an macbook pro with only one thunderbolt port ...

Graphic-card - Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Prozessor - 2,7 GHz Intel Core i7

i want to buy resolume arena4 to do some mapping and live mixing for a theater-production.
as i want to project on the whole stage from different sides i need to know
if it is possible to:

1.
project with many monitors (6 or 8) that show the different screens
that i composed in the advanced setup with one thunderbolt port?
and i don't mean one screen scattered in many different projectors

2.
at the same time capture video sequences that are shown on one of these screens?

3.
is there a device that combines multi sdi capture and multi video output through one
thunderbolt port? maybe with an external graphic-card?

i thought about getting a "blackmagic ultra studio sdi"
to capture at least 1 sdi signal through the usb3 port, if it is not possible to run
different monitors/projectors at a high resolution with just one thunderbolt port.

could i just plug 3 "matrox triple head to go" devices together? and if it is possible
can i put 7 monitors with different screens through the advanced output on these?
or would it still be 3 screens with two of those scattered in 3?

please help me !!!

For that much video processing, I would really suggest something with a better GPU...you will not be able to get anything decent out of a single mac book doing 8 outputs and an input
Lighting and media server design
