Microsoft Surface Pro 2

Post by bsom »

I installed Avenue 4.1.7 on my new Microsoft Surface Pro 2 all the while thinking to myself that it would completely suck and I'd be lucky to mix two layers together, never mind the effects panel.

Boy, was I surprised! I get a consistent 58-60FPS mixing three layers of the included demo material at 640x480. The CPU never went above 30%. I threw on some effects and the CPU spiked around 70% but the frame rate was almost unchanged. Since I primarily work in 800x600 footage and use effects rather sparingly, I think the Surface might be my new rig for performing live and traveling light.

If anyone has any questions or wants me to try something out to see if it works, let me know.

Any idea how to get the built in cameras to read as a source in Resolume? I want to use them as a document camera for certain elements in the show

thanks for this update. I was wondering how the Surface pro would do with VJing.
