Maximum Texture Size - GPU

Hey Guys.
Just a quick question regarding this.
I have a pretty old machine with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M.
The video features are as follows.
Video features
Multi-monitor: Yes
Maximum digital resolution: 2560 x 1536
Maximum VGA resolution: 2048 x 1536
Anti-Aliasing technologies: CSAA
HDMI: Yes
So my question is what is the difference between the digital resolution and the VGA resolution?
I can see how you might get a lower resolution if you are outputting from the your laptop but is the VGA resolution limited to VGA or does that include HDMI & DVI? I feel like there is a really obvious answer but I just need some clarification.
Cheers
Liam
