Wifi Camera from a Tablet to Resolume

Post by pfelberg »

Hi.
I´ve started to setup OSC to control Resolume. Everything going great so far.
But now that my dedicated wifi is up and running, conneting my Samsung Galaxy Note to Arena through OSC, I wonder if it is also possible to stream whatever is my phone screen to Resolume using wifi as well. Not the camera image. The screen itself.
My intention is to run some drawing apps in an android tablet, for instance, allowing clients to paint directly to the big screen while by passing through Arena.
Any help is appreciated.

tks

The correct term is to Mirror.
Mirror my screen content thru wi-fi to be captured by Arena (wi-fi cam source?)
Is it possible?
Joris?

This site has a utility to capture MJPEG remote streams into Resolume: http://alax.info/blog/tag/ipvideosource
The captured streams show up as DirectShow capture devices in resolume. Be sure to get the 32bit version as Resolume is 32bit.

The remote source can be an ip camera or an app on your tablet.
All you need to find now is an app that streams the screen display so that it can be picked up as an ip video source.

How about an Amazon FireTV device or Google Chromecast connected to a capture card? I use Airplay regularly via Apple TV to a capture card using iPhones and iPads and it works great so this shouldn't be any different.

Yes, there´s also EZ Cast that seems to be even better than Chrome Cast.
I was in doubt about their compatibility with Capture Cards, since there´s some config to be done on target´s screen.
Also, there is the price of the capture card and the best choice for this.

With the Apple TV 720p60 seems to work like a charm so I'm not sure what your tablet or EZ cast can do.

If it says a dll is missing like msvcr100.dll or something similar, you need a version of C++ Redistributable available for download from microsoft. Just do a google search with your missing dll.

As it took some days for your new input, well, I ordered the EZ-Cast adapter.
As I get it, I will test it and publish my review here.

Course, I am downloading the missing software from Microsoft and will test the utility suggested as well.

Thanks!!
