HDBITT for 4 4k TV same signal

Post by jawbone »

If I am just reproducing the same playback content over 4 4k tv under 150' range, is this a good choice?

the linked device is not hdBaseT. it's hdBitT.
that's a different standard.

That is correct, wrong in the title, but do you know if it works fine in this situation? Or what would be a better solution.

I don't have much experience with hdBitT,
the little I have was with a single extender, having about 200ms latency.

Do you know the latency for the Gefen HDBaseT products?

Gefen products should be HDBaseT certified, and in this case should produce near to zero latency.
On the Gefen website they also say that.

Oaktown uses HDBaseT extenders as far as I know, he could give you better information.

We get near 0 latency with all our Atlona/Gefen HDbaseT adapters. As a note, true HDbaseT hardware is 100% compatible with other gear. For instance I often use combinations of Atlona and Gefen gear on my shows. You just need to make sure the POE is the same voltage.

We use only Cat6 Ethernet cables and switch to copper for longer runs. My new favorite adapter is this one: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/ext-uhd-cat5-e ... d_id=15119 as it lets us use a network (Art-Net) to control projectors over the added Ethernet connection.

If you want to know more about HDbaseT, take a look at this page.

Thank you Frederic! Alway a gentleman and a scholar. So, for HDBaseT solution, go out from the computer to a 4k 1x4 splitter, then use the 4 4k Gefen extenders to the TVs? Another question. Can a Datapath X4 be used as a splitter in this situation to give the same 1080p signal to 4 4K TVs? Or would it have to be a Datapath FX4?
