I have someone wanting to map an entire room with 10 projectors. I'd really love to use Resolume Arena since I'm most familiar with it and I'd like to run the room as a rig and not a display. I understand Resolume uses the main video card for all the processing and any others to just pass video.
I have spec'd out a 1080ti an I9 and 3x Fx4's which pushes my rig over $15k. My question is, can I use a 1080ti and two much lower spec cards? I'm not sure what exactly but something in the <$100 range, probably from Nvidea to avoid compatibility issues with 3+ HDMI/DP/DVI outputs is what I'm thinking. I know I'm going to take a slight performance hit vs the Fx4's but if it cuts the cost of the system by over $5k I think it would be a good alternative. Should I stay within the 10** series cards or would any work?
What are your thoughts?
