Camera suggestions?

Post by flik »

I know this has been talked about before, but thought there might be some newer options. I was wondering what some good but inexpensive options might be for a single camera input. Are there any decent webcams that would work or is it still better to go with a separate camera and video capture device? I'm looking for something small that I can mount to a microphone stand to capture a singer's face while they are singing.
Thanks

I own 3 of these

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D4 ... UTF8&psc=1

Not the BEST but for 85 bucks a piece and having some decent adjustability I cant complain. Usually just mount them high up for a wide B roll shot or facing down on to the dj. Has a standard screw mount on the bottom so you can use any tripod or adapter.

Hope this helps!

When it come to quality its better to use a decent camera and a capture card. Also you need to get the usb / webcam signal to your system.

For all on the search i would also talk about NDI... either NDI as capture device (birddog studio i.e.) or use a camera with NDI output.

There is a NDI App to turn every smartphone into an NDI source.... but only the compresed ndi/HX version.

it may worth a shot...

Thank you very much for this responses !

I will search for NDI on smartphones because it is probably the cheapest way to use cams on stage, very good idea, because money is a problem on my project.
Marshall cams are beautiful but too much expensive for me.

Here is the setup i wish to build :

Hi,

I use the Marshall cv range for this. Little dinky camera with sdi or hdmi out (some with both). Pretty bomb proof too.

I have the cv505 and cv565.

hope this helps
