Good laptop for Resolume

Use bootcamp. And search this forum for further instructions (you'll need additional video drivers)

IM TRYING TO GET THE GIG AS A VJ... and hopefuly i can get help from you guys along the way... i read resolume is coming available for mac.. when will this be happening? or is there a way to use it now... ok, im downloading bootcamp, but to be honest with you im not sure what it is... or how can i use it to be able to run resolume... thnx again!!

Eys, I'm looking at getting this here laptop.

I'll be using Resolume with Ableton 6 (It's minimum system requirements are 600MHz CPU
512MB RAM).

My main concern is that the 5400RPM hard drive wont be able to handle the two programs simultaneously. Although Ableton doesn't have the highest system requirements experience has taught me how easy it is to overtax a computer once you have enough synths and effects running.

From reading this thread it seems that Resolume can work just fine on a 5400 hard drive but what with the laptop having to access samples and suchlike as well would it be necessary to buy a faster external drive to store the clips on?

For this topic i would be very greatful for any quick answer.
I am thinking about buying a new macbook, but i do urgently need to know until 30th october if resolume 3 will run on it smoothly, for this would massively influence my decision about it and i could not afford a macbook pro.

dedicated graphics ram is what you need for Res 3, also bear in mind that at the moment there is no official solution for getting video out of the latest releases of Mac's ( apple are stopping the dongle for svideo/comp ) you may well be better off getting one of the previous generation, maybe even a refurb model from apple?
