Mixer as in midi controller, I believe you mean?
I suppose it depends on your style of mixing ... There's so many to choose from now, some fairly inexpensive, and some very expensive. The guys say we may see an updated Resolume ReACT Controller some day, but that doesn't help us now
I've used various types, and am still on the hunt for one that uses little space on my gig table, yet offers the most controller in a well laid out arrangement. I don't like the A-B style controllers as I find them too limiting and we use a Edirol V-4 for swapping between VJ feeds. It should have loads of pots and sliders and buttons. It would be nice to have at least one X-Y stick, and a matrix of buttons, but those lend more to plugins or other applications, as resolume has grown up and is no longer locked to a specific number of trigger clip channels.
Sadly, I find there is no perfect solution and I end up carrying a different midi controller to mess with almost every party. Hope springs eternal however
