just bought this card
http://www.avermedia.com/Product/Produc ... spx?Id=530
works great so far, but i just can use svideo/video input (analog) and not the digital hdmi source
i think the drivers may work differently, would be great if hdmi would work in future.
especially the price of the card (around 80€) is very interesting...

so, after further testing, it works now

didn't tested komponent so far, but hdmi input works great.
had to set a new composition with 1920x1080, then the source also got this resolution (720p won't work, otherwise 640x480 or 720x576 resolutions work).

delay also seems okay, further test will show if it runs smooth also, but looks good now!
i'm really impressed of this cheap video capture device.
okay, it's not a blackmagic or matrox and only runs on windows so far, but i can even use 2 sources simultaneously (svideo/video or komponent/hdmi).

which resolution do you use?
hdmi i got only to work if the hdmi source is 1920x1080 and my comp size is also 1920x1080

if your composition is smaller the capture source is not set to full hd and is not working!

maybe you also can try via component input, seems to work better...

also you may try to start the aver media center to check if you see the input!

nice thing since 4.0 is that resolume also detects 2 aver media hd cards in 1 system :)

on of the sources should be the hdmi input....
to capture in full hd the composition also must be set to full hd or above! (otherwise the capture source has another resolution somehow)

once the source is recognized in full hd, you also should be able to downsite the composizion if needed!

Why is that problem happening using every capture card?
Sometimes we need to take the full capture resolution on a smaller composition (slicing it) or the opposite, making an overlay of video in a fixed area of the composition.
When I used Resolume to output to a LED screen, I had this problem...
Resolume doesn't allow to select input settings or resolutions, just filters of the device, and sometimes it just overrides the correct capture settings. Using this card, when the input is 720p and the composition is 1080p, resolume takes a matching resolution from the list of the device, and it shows the 720p image over a blank green 1080p video, even though the input isn't in that mode.
I also tried with Datapath's VisionRGB-PRO2 and the result is different (it uses more PCI bandwidth and slows down the composition) but is also a problem.
I consider it a bug. We need control over which resolution we input to Resolume, otherwise every single capture driver handles it differently.

We're giving capture via DirectShow (which AverMedia uses) another look, hopefully that will solve weird situations like the comp size affecting the capture resolution.

Also we'll be taking a look at direct support for popular cards like Datapath and Avermedia.

i now got 2 of them, but did't get them work together so that i have 2 full hd inputs....
resolume detects both cards in sources menu but only one of the inputs/cards works!
i don't know if there is even multisupport with these cards (in the aver media software you also just can switch between card 1 and 2).
maybe you can figure it out :?
