A bit closer to a full clickdeck controller

The LinnStrument by RogerLinn Design HOME

Image

Meet LinnStrument, an expressive MIDI controller for musical performance.
Unlike the simple on/off switches of a standard MIDI keyboard, LinnStrument's RGB-backlit note pads sense each finger's subtle movements in five ways, enabling musical performance expression rivaling that of fine acoustic instruments.

LinnStrument sends standard MIDI messages over its USB or MIDI output jacks, and is configured by default to work out-of-the-box with every MIDI sound generator in existence, with the advantages over a MIDI keyboard of performed vibrato, note-to-note pitch slides, full pressure sensing from lightest to heaviest touch, and forward/backward movement sensing.

For fully independent 3D control of all simultaneously touches, you'll need a synth that's compatible with MPE (Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression), a new industry-wide MIDI standard that uses a separate MIDI channel for each touch. It's already supported in a long list of major software instruments. We even include free sounds files for Apple's MainStage and Logic, plus a free license for Bitwig 8-Track, all of which support MPE in their built-in synths.

Features:
Step Sequencer
Expressive Swing Arpeggiator
Split Keyboard / Strum / CC Faders
Single or Dual Foot Switch Input
All Settings on front panel / Open Source software

A bit pricey for a touchscreen, but built like a tank. If anyone needs more info, let me know and I'll get you in touch with Steven

I wasn't super impressed with these personally. We had them on a install and they also seemed a tad fragile.

They were designed for recording studio's so probably not the most practical, But if you want a nice 42" touch screen desk, well here you go ;)

Very cool, hopefully they'll add support for Windows 7 at some point. Although there is an unofficial library here: https://github.com/Lange/node-elgato-stream-deck

Please report back on how you like it and how you set it up with Resolume!

Nice! I like the Stream deck a lot already! But have you guys managed to send MIDI or OSC from it yet? It doesn't out of the box... Any work arounds to get that up and running?

I've also written a Stream Deck API library, which can be found here:

https://github.com/danieltian/stream-deck-api

It's only to interface with the Stream Deck, but I can probably whip up a quick MIDI/OSC wrapper app. It would require that you have programming knowledge to use though.

I'm not a musician myself (I came across this thread searching for MIDI controllers to use with a flight sim), but if you tell me what you'd like the Stream Deck to show and which program I can test it with, I will see what I can do.

Nice Ranma13! Sound like you are on the way to make this pice of hardware a lot better!

I would love to have the possibility to type a specific OSC string and send it to a specific ipadress/port, lets say like this:

IP: Localhost
Port: 7000
Message: /layer1/clip1/connect 1

Im not a programmer my self, but I have people around me with the skills : )

All the best
