Live video feed on an older MacBook Pro

I'm putting together a new production for an artist I work with and have a few questions regarding capture cards.

I'm using a late 2008 MacBook pro (unibody) that comes with an expresscard slot. I'm trying to figure out a way to send a video feed from a secondary laptop (running resolume) into my MacBook Pro. Is the Matrox MX02 Mini the best capture card for the job? Have any of you used it via the expresscard/34 slot and what framerates were you getting? I hear the latency is about 4-5 frames. Also, what if I want to use multiple video feeds (from various cameras) simultaneously?

Thanks in advance!
