ATI Radeon 6870 crashing Avenue

I just put in a new Radeon 6870 into my Mac Pro, and while most apps run great, e.g. After Effects, Avenue will not launch. Same result with Mac OS versions 10.7.4 and 10.8.

Any suggestions to remedy this? other than getting a different video card of course, which may be the only answer.

Thanks,
Jeff

As far as I know, the 6870 is not officially supported by Apple yet, so you'll have to wait until they release drivers for it.

I have an ATI Radeon 6870 (XFX 2GB) in my hackintosh and haven't had any issues with Resolume (On both 10.7 and now 10.8), are you sure there isn't something else running that is interfering and could be causing Resolume to crash? I'm pretty sure I am using the native ATI6000Controller.kext as my graphics driver that came with mountain lion, so I imagine the 6870 should work on a Mac Pro as well.

When I every have a funky problem with Resolume I find trashing the preference files Located in your Documents helps every time.

Appreciate the help from everyone here. I switched to an nVidia 8800 card and all apps run fine.
