So the Mini Recorder works but the Monitor doesn't?

I don't actually need the monitor/sdi output, I was more interested in the recorder. But I was interested to see if you got the output/monitor version working out of curiosity.

Hey CVH, have you been able to test the Mini Recorder with an HD-SDI signal? I'm reading all kind of complaints on the BMD forum that people don't get it to work with HDMI & HD-SDI sources.

Yes, I have tried the majority of the blackmagic capture products, all capture methods working fine(hdmi/sdi/comp). output is not working. Everyone is having issues with them because they are expecting a plug and play remedy. The capture settings have to be precise with the device(s) you are outputting.

Hello,
for a video installation, I'm planning to buy a Mac Mini Thunderbolt (refurbished 2011 and 0S 10.7), a Sony HDR-CX410 and a BlackMagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder.
I want to record both audio and video streams via HDMI in 1080i50 (or 1080p25).

What I read here and on other forums about HDMI capture issues makes me anxious.
Do you think my workflow could work without issues ?

Thanks
Alain

So would this work:

BlackMagic DVI Extender (SDI output) to Ultra Studio Mini capture

With the goal of taking the screen from one computer and input that into Resolume?

I have been battling this problem for weeks and this seems to make the most sense...

I have an ultra studio express, at 1080i 29.97 sdi i can get a 2 fps delay, however there is a strange refresh problem when panning quickly. I don't see this inside of the BM software, so I suspect it must have to with the opengl layer that resolume uses.
