Black Magic confusion - please help urgently

Hi guys,

I've run into a situation whereI need to take a live video stream from MacBook Pro#1 and feed that into Resolume on MacBook Pro #2. I don't want to record it on computer#2, I just want to play it back in real-time and mix it with other videos in Resolume.

E.g. I want to mix a live feed from computer #1 (running Pure Data fluid sim) into some other general Resolume Effects running on computer #2.

Because if how this live-show works the computers must remain separate.

Is this even possible? If so, what live real-time playback device do you use?

I thought perhaps this would work: http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity/

Cheers.

That will work. Resolume natively supports BM devices.

The only potential issue is getting the Intensity to recognize the MBPs output, which can be tricky, depending on your connection method. I think it has to do with the HDCP in some signals. It's best to contact BM support about this, since it's not something that we can do anything about.

We regularly use Mac DisplayPort -> HDMI -> Intensity Shuttle -> USB3.0 PC without issues ourselves.

Don't know about mac'n stuff, but maybe this info is bit of a help in case of HDCP problems :

Last post in the thread is also resolved by setting not only the output resolution from the laptop, but also setting the amount of Herz in the advanced settings.

Hi.

I just wanted to report that the 'Black Magic Intensity Shuttle (Thunderbolt version)' worked without any problems.

E.g. We are sending a video via HDMI from MacBook#1 > Intensity Shuttle > Macbook#2 > Resolume.

Resolume is coping well and maintaining a solid 60fps while mixing both video feeds together.

No HDCP issues here either, but this may be a unique situation as we are sharing the video from a fluid simulation, not a traditional video feed ... but I'm not sure if this really makes any difference anyway.

so how do you get the video out?
or do you have more than one thunderbolt on your MBP?
