low framerate

Post by GuruMeditation »

With the same composition, same clips on the same SSD hard drive etc...
Resolume 3 : 60 fps with 5 active layers
Resolume avenue 4 beta 2 : 28 fps with 3 active layers, and some micro-freezes

Comp and clip size : 1400*1050 DXV codec
Didn't test with fullHD or 3072*768 but I'm affraid... (always at 60 fps with resolume 3) :(

Same thing here. But thing is that when I have all my 6 layers playing full 2400x600px clips it still plays at 30fps.

I did notice the framerate count to be inaccurate...
i have a 3360X1050 comp, playing 3-6 layers with tons of affects and the FPS stays 19.96 no matter what 8-)
a bit odd.

oh, and it's not really 19.96 fts...look more like 30-40....

Hmm.. Does it apear to be random, or is it about the graphic card?

Works better now after modification of vsync and other graphic card options and after having installed v4.0.0
But still not perfect, the framerate is ok on the preview windows, but the playback is not smooth, and there is still freezes and framedrop ; so it's okay for simple vj set with a small res, but impossible to use res 4 for hi-res videomapping and other "professional" projects
Once again, I don't have any of these problem when I work with Resolume 3

Maybe its something with your graphic card? I dont know anything about Geforce, ive been using ATI for years.
My ATI HD 6850 runs Resolume 4.0 smoothly in arround 60 fps in full HD, and I likely have a less powerful PC then you. Normal 7200rpm disk, Intel Core 2 Quad.

If it was a graphic card problem, I think the problem should also occurs on avenue 3 :|
Should I have to downgrade my PC to run Avenue 4 ?
