avenue osc trigger effects

Post by gtz »

good evening everyone.

i'm currently goofing around with resolume 3 & osc, and i can't seem to find a way to drop an effect into the clip/layer/composition effect stacks via osc. any hints or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

I would be very surprised if this is possible (not even in Resolume 4) - hmmm, maybe worth a post in the "New Features" section.

What you can do right now: put (all?) effects to the compostion / layers and bypass them (or set the opacity to 0). Then enable them using OSC commands.

i figured that would be the way to go, then. i'm alwas going for a "never touch the keyboard or mouse during a gig" approach, so this is kinda not really satisfying.

is there a way to change the effect order via osc?

i think osc realy just turns things on and off and controls paramteers ( in avenue at least )

pity. although one could argue that "effect nr 2 on slot up" is just an event, & as such should be triggerable.

Only interface elements (buttons, sliders, knobs) can be controlled by OSC. Anything that is only doable via the mouse (adding/moving effects or clips for instance) is not.

thanks for yor reply. so, basically, as long as there's no "this effect up/down" buttons, there's no way to trigger this via osc.
