Best Software converting to DXV?

Post by VJVertex »

Which is the best software converting videos with the resolume dxv-codec? (maybe wih support of CUDA or any other special GPU-Support)

Encoding happens on the CPU, nothing to do with GPU and of course with Cuda.
The best encoder imo is Streamclip, and it's free...

there a some tools using GPU... but most of them can´t handle DXV.

But, whats the best one and supports multicores? (more than 4 ;) )

But keep in mind, that MPEGStreamclip cannot handle the alpha channel (when encoding to DXV)! Also I experienced that it's not possible to encode more than one video at the same time via batch encode. Streamclip or DXV encoder (maybe both?) are not thread-safe.

I lost some hours to find this out... I think the missing alpha support is even mentioned in the Resolume manual, though I'm not sure.

The batch list works ok for me on mac. Sometimes I get an error on one file that doesn't got converted but when I try that one again it does convert.
