Looking for vj's to make visuals on dj sets

Post by keyser_soze »

Hello everyone

I am looking for people that can make visuals on the DJ sets that I will send them,
the DJ sets are 6 hours long so the "video" will have to be as long.
The screen resolution is custom and only HD footage must be used.

What kind of visuals do we want?
Its for a nightclub, use videoclips, dancing people, cool effects and your own imagination.
We need them in .mov with the DXV codecs to play off in resolume.

How often and how much videos will I need?
Like around 12 in a month, every month.

What does it pay?
You tell me. Show me what you can make, tell me your fee, and if we agree we will ask 1 demo video of 2 hours and then you can start working for us.
Please tell us how much you want per 6-hour video as we can divide the amount of videos by a couple of vj's.

How to reach us?
You can contact me at keyser_soze (at) outlook (dot) com

Best regards

Soze

(@admins, i hope its not a problem that I wrote my email address here, If so feel free to delete my email address, then people can reach me through PM's here, thanks.)

72 hours of custom HD content/month?

that's a LOT of video to make....rendering alone on a machine built to render video would be between 3 and 7 days

anyways, I shot you an email...I have the team and machines to handle it, but we aren't cheap!

I have to agree, A 6 hour video would cost you $$$. I would suggest: If you would like custom content for the events, it may be more cost effective to hire a VJ who can mix elements into a video. The VJ should 'man' the playback station and mix the video layers in your specific order. Have him/her make "scenes/themes". You can hire graphic designers, like myself;) - to make your custom elements and graphic sets for you.

$20/min? You're super, super cheap

Most stock loops (ie. vjloops.com, motion loops.com) are between $0.75 and $1.25 per second for hd content! So about 3x what you're saying

Just for reference, my quote was ~$18,000 per 6 hour video, and that's stil a hell of a deal, but for ~ $215k/ month and keeping me and my entire staff busy I can do it.

3d video mapped custom content generally runs in the $2500-$10,000/minute range, plus projection/setup/etc...

Its nice to see your quote. Sometimes it can be hard to gauge and its nice to see some actual figures. Thanks for sharing.

Unlike most people I don't mind sharing pricing....never understood why people aren't more open to share what they charge for stuff like this. It's always difficult to price out these kind of jobs, especially when you're just getting started :)
