Hey,
short question..
Is it possible to use the resolume DMX output to send a dmx signal to a switchpack to turn overheadprojectors on or off?
So no brightness or RGB channels etc.. just a power signal..?
thnx!
Seconding this. It's a very bad idea to routinely shut a projector off and on throughout a show.ravensc wrote:cutting the power to a projector is not a good idea, but it can be done.
You risk melting the parts inside the projector, and also it will shorten the lamp life.
if you really want to do this you can create a fixture with a luminance channel, and feed it black input for 0 and 100% white for 255 output value.
A far better way to blank out a projector is to buy one with hardware shutter integrated, buy a shutter separately, or build a shutter yourself.
That's why they make shutters, isn't it? Most new professional projectors have built in shutters that can be controlled via Artnet, RS232 or Web Control.Programfeed wrote:Seconding this. It's a very bad idea to routinely shut a projector off and on throughout a show.
