Large Midi Controller

Post by Oren Fusion »

Hi
Have you ever connected large midi controller, like Grand MA or Martin M1?

Considering if it worth the effort (not the price...)

Those are DMX Lighting desks not MIDI controllers. is $35,000 for a controller worth it? Well I guess that depends on your needs and budget. My $200 MIDI fighter's work fantastic and I can take that extra $34,800 and put it towards stuff like taco's or a new car or house ;)

No idea if you have a light desk like that. (must be nice) Here's a youtuber that has exp with grand MA that is coincidentally working on linking his light desk rig with midi controllers and Resolume. https://youtu.be/gn00p-h6lLY?t=72
He's using bome's and a mix of artnet and midi.
Unless your running lights it doesn't seem to be worth that sorta investment.

Cool video. I would personally swap his two machines around. He's running Resolume on an openCL card and a non-graphics app running on the openGL card.

Yeah I think the catch is he wants the one with the MA software to have the touch screen and Resolume is his 2nd priority. But yeah he says he will do updates so we'll see!
