Video latency.

Post by cvanhoose »

Anyone else having video latency issues from a new 2017 15” MacBook Pro? Troubles getting audio to sync.
Ruled out the audio device.
Strobe effect shows the latency. Running 3840x2160 from a single output. Apple dongle.

Update: the issue is the 2017 MacBook pros type C hardware causing the latency when the output is set to 30hz.
When set to 60hz, the only upturn is synced.

TESTED and CONFIRMED
R6 is only affected by the Video latency. Doesn't matter what output connection is used. There is MAJOR video latency.
Setting the Audio delay under preferences to 300ms, syncs the videos with audio.
The video codec and formats do not affect the latency.

R5 has no latency.

Am I the only one seeing this?

I have a good stock of dongles now from testing this issue.
Apple dongle ( typeC to HDMI ) is my preference.
Tested resolution from 720@60 to 4k@30. Same result with all resolutions and dongles.

I did a restore also with the same result.
High Sierra 10.13

Doesn't promise much good to expect.

R5 does not have latency with the same dongles, same machine.

R6 software is useless on the new MacBook Pros. I have tested 5 of them, maxed configurations.

One shots, strobe effect, video with audio playback cant be used because of the latency.

do you see this latency with other programs too?
Is the output monitor image in Sync with the audio without you adding the 300ms delay?
How is that when you move the Resolume GUI to your secondary monitor?

Videos play in sync with other softwares such as PlaybackPro, Quicktime, VLC, etc. Same machine
In show right now, will swap GUI on the displays shortly.
It is a video latency issue only on the second display.

The video plays in sync with the audio in the preview/program on the GUI

Yes. I also have several belkin, accel, star tech, hootoo adapters.
All work fine with other software
