I was wondering if anyone had any good DIY ideas for rain proofing a projector mounted outdoors? It's a Sanyo PLC-XP55 that i am going to be mounting to a tree with a wall mount bracket and would like to weatherproof it a bit, but don't want to spend a ton of money doing it if possible. It's going to be part of an install at a music festival this summer in the chill out area and will be set up for close to a week outdoors. I would just like to prevent any rain that might drip down from the trees to get into it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
i got a similar design i am gonna build soon in prep for summer tour , it's basically the same design as above but with a fine tuning system so i can pan & tilt after having rigged the platform.
And filters on that air intake , which are easy to take out from outside without messing up the mapping , blow them out , put them back.
At some point was also thinkin to add an arduino with a wifi module and a temp sensor , for those hot summer nights where all the feets stomping dust could clog up the filters really fast .
I got so way more concerned with dust as with rain at some point , it gets everywhere :/
Assuming the projector will stay overnight, I would recommend adding a larger fan(s) to blow on the rig at night through sunrise to help prevent condensation an dew build up in the early morning.
