Converting Mp4 to DXV in Alley - Audio Issue

Post by pfelberg »

Hi.
I was in a corporate event last weekend when I received a mp4 video a couple of minutes before starting.
A play test with Arena presented a terrible video playback, so we decided to use Alley to convert it to DXV.
The conversion was smooth and the results on play seemed fantastic untill we heard the audio.
The audio got several fast sparkling hisses and that was unnaceptable. We checked cablling, the original audio and other video/audio files to be sure that went bad during convertion.

Anything on this? Suggestions, known bugs?

Thank you!

Paulo

What audio settings did you use for the converting ?

Possible solution is to separate the audio and video channel and play them on different layers..

Sounds like an issue we fixed for 6.1.2 release, for AAC tracks.
11953 Audio cracks in AAC files converted with Alley

Which Alley version were you using?

I am not sure what version of Alley it was since it was in another system than mine.
But I am pretty sure it was updated to 6.1.2 at that moment.
I used Vegas to convert it later, then I had a solution for the moment. Just wanted to report the issue.
I wilk keep on testing.

Thank you

Ok Paulo.

If you, or anyone comes across a file that produces an unexpected result when converting to DXV with the latest release, and it plays fine in the OS's native player, it would be great if you could share it with us on mail@resolume.com!
Thanks!

I tried converting some mp4 files using Alley . While the progress bar seems to show its converting and completes , the file size is 0 bytes and does not open in any player including Quick time .
Please let me know if Alley is the right tool to convert mp4 files to dmv / mov useful for resolume .

Which Alley version do you have?
