DJM-900NXS2 mixing table outputs

Post by sefreso »

Hello,

Can someone tell me which output of the DJM-900NXS2 mixing table is best to use so that I can use the external FFT in resolume?

Here is a good picture of its back sockets :

And here is the documentation : http://docs.pioneerdj.com/Manuals/DJM_9 ... al/?page=2

I am wondering whether it's better to use the RETURN outputs or MASTER 2 or REC ?

I am using a Focusrite 4i4.

Thanks in advance!

For RCA you could use either Master 2 or REC depending on if you wanted the mixer master volume control to affect the fft.

The RETURN is an input into the mixer.
The Master 2 audio is the same as the Master 1 XLR outputs.
The REC output is the Master audio but pre the master volume knob + limiter.

Hope this helps!

I meant SEND instead of RETURN.

Could the SEND be used in case I only have XLR cables?

Thanks. This helps a lot!

I dont think so.
It would only output the input channels sent to the send/return effect and I thought that the mixer also needs the return connected to not break the path for that channels effects.

Take the Master2 Outputs.... or if possible a seperate signal from the Soundtechnican..

For the problem with cables get 2 cheap DI boxes (passive) and a short rca to 6.3m cable.

its not the best to use long runs of unbalanced signals so the di will be good in any case =)
